15 Empowering Songs to Use in the Classroom #KidsDeserveIt

I am a huge fan of music.  If you’ve followed my blog for very long you may have seen me write posts reviewing music, posts that were completely inspired by a song, or even posts like this one where I share with you some great music!

So that’s my goal today.  Every morning on the announcements (and every morning as a classroom teacher) I loved to start the day with music.  But not just any music.  I’ve always chosen music with a message.  Are the kids listening to the lyrics? Or are they just enjoying the beat? For me, it doesn’t matter, but if they ARE listening to the lyrics, I want the lyrics to be those that are empowering and positive.

So, here are a few of my current favorites!

“Never Ever Give Up” by Matthew West

“Love with Your Life” by Hollyn

“Imagine” by Melissa Greene

“Move (Keep Walking)” by tobyMac

“Get Back Up Again” by Anna Kendrick (from Trolls)

“Floodgates” by Colbie Caillat

“BZRK” by Family Force 5

“Be the Change” by Britt Nicole

“Love is Action” by Tauren Wells

“Sing” by Glee Cast

“You Are Loved” by Stars Go Dim

“Rise Up” by Andra Day

“Powerful” by Empire Cast

“Sing” by Pentatonix

“Long Live” by for King and Country
